For some of us, camping and spending time out in the wilderness with our families are the memories we hold dear. Is there truly anything better than gathering with those you love the most around a hot, crackling campfire with some good food and some good conversation? If you’re looking for new ways to connect with family and friends when you’re out glamping, here are some questions you can ask your loved ones around the campfire!

 

Campfire Conversations

Pull up your coziest camp chair, and nowadays they come very cozy, and get ready to listen and learn something you might not have known about the ones you love! Here are some campfire conversation starters to get you going, from deep to silly.

  1. When you think about adventures, particularly in your childhood, what’s the first big adventure that comes to mind?
  2. If you were to add a s’more topping and “invent” a new s’more, what would the ingredient be and what would you call the finished treat?
  3. Where is the farthest you’ve travelled from home?
  4. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken in your life? If you could, would you do it differently?
  5. Who are three historical figures you’d love to have tea with? What would you ask them?
  6. Do you look up to someone and if so, who is it and why?

For conversation that’s not as heavy or as difficult to traverse, here are some easier and maybe sillier questions for you to contemplate. These are fun for kids to answer too!

  2. What’s the silliest or funniest way you’ve messed with a significant other, a close friend, a parent or a sibling? Was it just to be petty or did/do you have a feud?

  6. You suddenly have a new superpower — you can either breathe underwater or fly. Which would you choose?
  7. If you could camp in any National Park, where would you go?
  8. Do you have a favourite time of day? How about your favourite season?
  9. What’s your favourite sound when you’re in nature? What about your favourite smell?
